Jack W. Melton, Jr. is first and foremost a professional photographer with over 82 Civil War magazine covers to his credit. He is the collecting communities most respected authority on Civil War artillery and has co-authored three books on the subject, (Field Artillery Ordnance 1861-1865, Melton & Pawl's Guide to Civil War Artillery Projectiles, and In The Line Of Fire) and worked on another 18 reference books. Jack is a member of The American Society of Arms Collectors, The Company of Military Historians, Executive Committee Member of the Civil War Roundtable of Atlanta, World War II Roundtable of Atlanta, Ohio Valley Military Society, and an accredited member of The International Society of Appraisers (ISA). He has been an active collector of Civil War and military artifacts since 1974 and his expertise is sought out by enthusiasts around the country to identify, document, appraise and photograph their antique military collectibles.
